There are more than 3000 enterprises in China's packaging machinery industry, and the market concentration is very low. The market share of the 50 large enterprises is only 10-15 in total. The typical characteristics of the industry are uneven. The high, middle and low-grade equipment is well-organized, and has its own market space.

Correspondingly, the application of automation products also presents uneven characteristics. Low end automation products can find their own market here. There are great differences in the use of controllers in packaging machinery. Fieldbus technology is used in large production lines. Most single machines use PLC or special controllers. Some middle and low-end equipment adopts relay control, while more small equipment does not use any electronic controllers. The HMI display of packaging machinery is mainly used together with PLC or single chip microcomputer to set production process parameters, monitor equipment operation status and record equipment production history. A few machines use touch screens.

The use of transmission products in packaging machinery is mainly to adjust the main process speed and control the periodic change of motor speed in the production process. For most packaging machinery, frequency converter is not a necessary electrical product. Therefore, in general, the frequency converter has a low utilization rate in this industry. However, a large number of frequency converters are often used in beer and tobacco packaging production lines.

The application of motion control products in packaging machine is mainly to realize position control and strict speed synchronization, in which servo products are the main products. The current application level is still very low.
