The British PCI film consulting company recently released a report that the market prospect of the plastic flexible packaging industry in the Middle East and Africa in the next five years will be very promising. According to the report, the total market value of plastic flexible packaging in the Middle East and Africa in 2013 was US $4billion. In view of this, PCI analysts believe that the plastic flexible packaging market in the above two regions has great potential. With the pace of economic development, the per capita consumption of plastic flexible packaging in the Middle East and Africa is bound to achieve leapfrog growth.

The data shows that the market demand for plastic flexible packaging in Nigeria is increasing at a rate of 0.12 year by year in the past five years. Therefore, PCI said that the country is expected to become a large plastic flexible packaging consumer market in the Middle East and Africa.

PCI said that the main driving forces for the rapid growth of the plastic flexible packaging market in the Middle East and Africa include: the rapid growth of the population, the improvement of food processing technology, the increase of investment in the flexible packaging industry, and the large-scale promotion of packaging products.
